Wamarra acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands upon which we work, live and socialise. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who we recognise as Australia’s First Peoples whose cultural practices continue today.
Wamarra partnered with the Land Engineering Team at Monegeetta to deliver a 1km extension to their second-class test track. Constructed through winter, the project team successfully mitigated weather impacts to ensure the new track was ready in time for testing operations.
The extension was designed to enhance testing capability, reducing wear on the existing circuit and introducing new features to simulate real-world conditions. These included a speed-limited dry creek ford crossing, tight cornering sections to test suspension, tyres, and steering, and dedicated braking and acceleration zones to test vehicle performance under pressure.
Wamarra’s scope covered site clearance, earthworks, drainage installation, verge construction, and hydroseeding. Despite encountering soft spots caused by poor subgrade conditions, the team effectively managed these areas through stabilisation and the use of geogrid reinforcement, ensuring the long-term durability of the track.
Delivered under budget, the project not only achieved its goals but also allowed the Land Engineering Agency to extend the scope further, highlighting Wamarra’s ability to deliver complex projects efficiently and to a high standard.
