Acknowledgement of country

Wamarra acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands upon which we work, live and socialise. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who we recognise as Australia’s First Peoples whose cultural practices continue today.

Ignite

Every dream begins with a first step. Begin your story with Ignite.

Step into your career

The best way to launch your career in construction is to dive in and get hands-on. That’s exactly what the Ignite Graduate Program is designed for.

You’ll be guided by industry experts and get a full-circle view of the construction world - from live sites to behind-the-scenes planning. Along the way, you’ll gain the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to make an impact from day one.

To help you take that first step, we’ve put together some of our top tips and guidance for applying.

Your Wamarra Journey

The tailored graduate program is your opportunity to learn, grow and lead, guided by culture and connection by purpose.

Your first step in about connection. You’ll break bread with our leadership team, sharing stories and hearing how our projects shape Country and the community. From there, you’ll be paired with a personal mentor – someone who’ll walk beside you, offering guidance, support and knowledge as you explore every part of our business.

Together, we’ll take you through the heart of what we do:

Managing people

Our projects are built by people, not just plans. Learn how to bring teams together, understand their strengths and lead with respect and integrity.

Project programming

Like the changing seasons, timing matters. Discover how we plan, map and coordinate every moving piece so our teams and projects stay in harmony.

Estimating

The right foundations start with the right numbers. Learn how to prepare accurate estimates, understand variations, and manage the contractual side of building.

Surveying

Learn how to read the land, interpret survey models, and set out our work with care and precision, respecting the Country beneath our feet.

Contact management

Understand the practical rights and obligations that keep projects on track, reducing risks and ensuring clarity every step of the way.

Procurement

From sourcing materials to engaging subcontractors, you’ll learn how to bring together the right people and resources to make projects possible.

Health & Safety

People are at the heart of everything we do. Gain the skills to create safe, supportive worksites where everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.

Financial Management

Understand the costs behind a project, how to manage them and how to find opportunities that strengthen our work and our communities.
