The Chisholm Road Prison Project is a part of the government’s commitment to improve community safety. The new maximum-security prison is expected to provide $279 million in direct economic benefits and create ongoing jobs in the Greater Geelong region.
In February 2020, Wamarra was engaged to deliver site establishment works at the Chisholm Road Prison project on behalf of John Holland and various civil works for Symal.
All our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers are engaged in various works across the duration of this project until mid-2021.
Project features include establishing one main compound and two separate satellite compounds. Wamarra also provided access to plant and operators, plumbing and electrical, managed resources, and was engaged to perform additional works following the completion of the project scope.
