Wamarra and WPA Building Better Together

Wamarra has been engaged by the Western Program Alliance (WPA) to lead the site establishment at three Level Crossing Removal Project sites – Cranbourne Line Upgrade, Old Geelong Road and Werribee Street.

The Western Program Alliance consists of McConnell Dowell, Arup and Mott MacDonald, Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) and V/Line.

We’re proud to have welcomed more to the Wamarra team since commencing operations earlier this year with the recruitment of Aboriginal tradespeople and general labourers taking our full-time workforce to 15 Aboriginal employees.

Managing Director Hayden Heta, a proud Aboriginal man of the Wiradjuri Nation, said “The partnership with WPA has allowed our company to expend time to focus on our purpose – providing meaningful employment and career opportunities to Aboriginal people. The advantage of our WPA partnership is that we’re in a supportive environment where we are learning and developing on-site while fostering genuine relationships, ones that we will continue into the future.”
