It’s with immense pride that Wamarra was awarded the 2023 Karen Milward Excellence Award at the Victorian Aboriginal Business Awards presented by the Kinaway Chamber of Commerce! 

This major award recognised our business as achieving outstanding outcomes, demonstrating that we are leaders in the construction industry and showing exceptional business achievement and outstanding practices in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and the cultural realm.  

This award belongs to everyone who has supported Wamarra on our journey to date to provide meaningful careers for Indigenous people with long-term sustainable work. And a testament to our dedicated team who every day pursues excellence in the work we do. 

In his speech on the night, Wamarra Managing Director Hayden Heta advocated, “I encourage our clients to continue to support Aboriginal businesses and give them a go. To all Aboriginal businesses, let’s lift each other up, stand together, and support one another in our growth. As a community, our strength lies in unity.”
