We know how important safety is in everything we do, and that’s why we celebrate HSEQ Excellence at Wamarra.

Our latest safety champion and site Team Leader, Allan Norris, is recognised for his proactive approach to safety on site and demonstrating genuine care for his co-workers. His quick thinking and action and ability to communicate requirements have prevented injury and kept everyone on-site safe.

As our team leader, Allan reviews all safety systems on-site and manages compliance whilst ensuring all work zones are appropriately delineated.

Allan can be found going above and beyond in many instances and while working on the Monash Freeway Site Compound project, he quickly identified risks and proactively implemented safety controls. While completing a plant pre-start on a scissor lift, he noticed the emergency release valve was faulty and immediately moved the machine to a safe location, tagged it out of use and let his team know.

On another occasion, Allan prevented workers from potential injury by protecting stirrups with traffic cones and star pickets with caps within our work zone.

Allan has also been the driving force behind the implementation and management of our COVID-19 processes, enabling works to continue in a COVID-safe manner and protecting our workers.
