At Wamarra, we say “when one of us wins, we all win”—and in April, we witnessed that spirit in action as we celebrated the 2025 graduates of our Bulabul Development Program.
Named after the Wiradjuri word for “together”, Bulabul reflects our belief that leadership is a shared journey. It’s about developing our people, sharing knowledge, and celebrating success as one.
Over six months, this transformative program supports current and emerging Wamarra leaders to build stronger teams, improve decision-making and grow their confidence and communication skills. The journey is as personal as it is professional—and this year’s graduates embraced every moment.
This marks the second cohort to graduate from Bulabul—a proud milestone that reflects Wamarra’s deep and ongoing commitment to our people. As a proud Aboriginal-owned and operated business, we believe the strongest foundations are built from within. That’s why we designed and delivered Bulabul in-house—to grow confident, capable leaders who carry our values forward and create lasting impact in our business and beyond.
Congratulations to our 2025 Bulabul graduates:
Matthew Clark, Luke Dalvean, Tori Kellett, Matthew Ryan, Jake Weston, Ryan White, and Tom Yensch.
The graduation was more than a celebration—it was a showcase of personal growth and leadership potential.
Matthew Clark shared that through the program, he’s learned to listen to his team more and adapt to different situations. “I feel at home at Wamarra and hope to be a coach and mentor to others in the business,” he said, highlighting the ripple effect of strong leadership.
For Luke Dalvean, the journey was about learning the importance of respecting leadership and applying those lessons to life beyond work. “There are still areas to improve on,” Luke reflected, “but I’m heading in the right direction.”
Tori Kellett, who came from an education background, joined Bulabul unsure of her place in construction. But the program helped her build confidence and overcome self-doubt. “I’ve enhanced my decision-making skills and hope to inspire other women in construction,” she said.
Jake Weston spoke about the influence of the leaders he’s worked with during his time at Wamarra, sharing that they inspired him to become one himself. “I joined the program to be a respected leader at Wamarra and grow as part of the team,” he said.
These stories are just a glimpse of the dedication and growth shown by this year’s graduates. Their commitment to learning and leading has been truly inspiring.
Their dedication, honesty and growth were inspiring to witness.
We’re excited to see how our Bulabul graduates continue to lead—on site, in the business and in their communities.
