For Tori Kellett, stepping into civil construction wasn’t just about changing careers – it was about embracing a new challenge and proving to herself what’s possible. After five years in education, she felt the pull toward something different, something outside her comfort zone. That’s when she found Wamarra.
A proud Yorta Yorta and Juru woman, Tori made the leap into construction two years ago, and she hasn’t looked back since. “It’s one of the best things I’ve done,” she says. From day one, Wamarra provided the support she needed to transition smoothly into her new role.
Since joining, Tori has been given every opportunity to learn and grow. One of her biggest achievements being mastering machinery operations – spending six months on the North East Link project operating a roller. But it hasn’t stopped there. She’s also gained hands-on experience in surveying, understanding underground services, and working with different machines, making every day on-site diverse and rewarding.
Beyond the technical skills, Wamarra has opened doors for Tori in ways she never expected. Through her work, she’s been able to travel, explore exciting projects, and achieve personal milestones.
With Wamarra behind her, Tori is ready to keep learning, growing, and proving that anything is possible.
