Wamarra is proud to partner with Skillsy to empower industry professionals with an immersive Intro to Infrastructure course.
Learning and development of our people is a top priority at Wamarra, so when the opportunity arose to have Area Manager, Stuart Burnett attend the Skillsy course in Melbourne we jumped at it!
Skillsy Head of Partnerships, Rachael Rooney said, ‘We’re super proud to welcome our newest partner Wamarra, and incredibly grateful to Stuart Burnett for conducting an acknowledgment of country to open course proceedings. Thank you Stu and Hayden Heta – we look forward to working with you around inclusiveness, respect and leadership for First Nations people.’
Stepping off site and into the classroom allowed Stu to engage in sessions discussing the history of the industry and evolution of projects, major public and private sector players and the construction project lifecycle.
The contemporary values session covered the importance of inclusivity, social licenses, sustainability, technology and collaboration for the sector.
The big picture was a focus of the interactive sessions that engaged sharing, learning and connecting on industry challenges and vision with case studies and immersive scenarios.
Skillsy has developed an Infrastructure crash course that is setting emerging leaders, like Stu, up for future success.
‘In two days, it was valuable to gain a more holistic understanding of the infrastructure industry and access to industry expertise while building a network of relationships with other participants, ‘said Stuart.
An industry leaders panel concluded the course with CPEE CEO, Madeleine McManus OAM, Gamuda Australia Project Director Jill Boag, Hatch National Director Transport Advisory, Kate McDonald and our Managing Director, Hayden Heta sharing their experiences and industry insights.
Delivering tailored training and development programs for upskilling our people is part of the Wamarra DNA. Thanks to Skillsy for developing this progressive course to build industry capability and great work Stu on joining the Intro to Infrastructure Melbourne alumni.
Together, we’re building meaningful careers.
